 Janine grew up in Syosset, New York, and graduated from Katharine Gibbs School in Manhattan and Suffolk Community College.
As Managing Broker of SDS, Janine has been actively involved in Aspen and Snowmass real estate since 1976. She holds CRB (Certified Residential Broker), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) designations from the National Association of Realtors®. She is both well known (formerly as Janine Jacinto Sharkey) and respected in the Aspen real estate community.
Serving in the past as the first woman President of the Aspen Board of Realtors®, first woman Realtor® of the Year, and on the board of the Colorado Association of Realtors® has allowed her to develop a unique marketing network and working relationship with other brokers statewide.
Janine’s most recent community involvements include serving as a past board member of the Aspen Choral Society, as past president of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in Aspen, as past Secretary of the Crossings at Horse Ranch Homeowners Association, and singing with multiple choral groups around Aspen. She is also the author of Breast Cancer: Take Control of Your Illness and Your Life. Other accomplishments have included her role as assistant publisher of the former Chopper Build magazine, a national motorcycle magazine.
Remarried in 2003 and when not working, you can find Janine and her husband, David, out at cultural events, traveling, hiking, biking, working out, or skiing. |
